WORKSHOP PROGRAM 2024

The program is aimed at musicians who like to think outside the box, pick up new ideas and see the opportunity to broaden their own musical horizon in playing with others.

Time to become interpreters of your favourite music. Turntables and vinyl are our musical instruments of choice, and with them we experiment and explore the versatile possibilities of the needle as a pickup.

Good songwriting isn't just the skill of creating catchy melodies or finding the perfect chords. It is the art of telling a story, arousing emotions, and conveying messages in such a way as to directly affect the listener. Together we’ll discover the elements that make your music unique.

ARAI

In the “Sketches Orchestra” we’ll make music in a collective process. We will further develop your ideas, snippets or composition sketches in this band context, and face down all the challenges we might encounter on our journey to becoming a unified sound-body.

BEATE WIESINGER

SOUND & PERSEPTION

As in politics, the body is the start of everything. Without a body, there are no possibilities to play music or create a sound. In this workshop we observe our bodies through musical gestures and try to minimize the boundaries between us and our instruments.

JULIEN DESPREZ

This production workshop is all about sound. We explore how sonic qualities can shape your own piece of music and how technology can help us get the most out of our ideas without losing the creative thread.

CID RIM

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

The animation artist and filmmaker Yasaman Hasani studied painting and animation film in Tehran. Since moving to Austria, she has expanded her artistic scope through expansive settings. In this way, she tries to approach questions of identity and origin.
